In a recent interview with Polish media outlet inwestorzy.tv, Piotr Babieno, CEO of Bloober Team, expressed his dissatisfaction with the latest trailer for the Silent Hill 2 remake.

Although the interview has since been removed, Eurogamer managed to transcribe key parts before its deletion. Babieno criticized the trailer, released during Sony’s State of Play in January, for not capturing the essence of the original game. He humorously admitted to writing some negative comments on the trailer’s YouTube page.

Babieno clarified that the Bloober Team was not involved in the marketing aspect, pointing to their partner Konami as responsible. He stressed that the combat-focused trailer does not reflect the game’s true spirit or what they are currently developing.

Babieno assured fans that the team aims to fully capture the original game’s romantic vision, which debuted 22 years ago. He believes that once players see the actual gameplay, their opinions will change.

Regarding the game’s graphics, Babieno mentioned that players could rest assured as the team is maximizing the capabilities of Unreal Engine 5. Silent Hill 2 Remake is currently in development for PC and PlayStation 5, though a release date has not been announced.
